THE AERT DECORATE

Wall Art That Pops: BellaMuse

I'm a big fan of bold graphic prints, especially on white walls with very sleek frames in teak or even something minimal, like a glass clip frame. A few prints with pizzazz can bring  an entire space together, adding just the right amount of punch to lend personality, YOUR personality, and a feeling of warmth to the space.  If you're color shy, a print can help break you out of the 'neutrals' that you've been living with.  Not sure how to add color into your home? Start small. A kitchen is a nice place to begin. Opt for tangerine, yellow and/or lime hues, great for the kitchen or dining room areas because these colors are known for evoking a sense of good health, energy, and cleanliness. You want to experience these feelings in your cooking quarters anyway, so why not bring in feel-good colors and see what results!
Where to Find Modern Prints - Stationery?
If you're at all inspired by graphics, you must feel lost in a glorious maze of color when you surf online for stationery these days. The sheer volume of jaw-dropping designers who have hopped on the card making bandwagon is sometimes overwhelming. As a writer, I can't tell you how many submissions I get each week asking me to write about stationery. Okay, I can. Oodles. However, like most of you, I'm looking for designs that pop. They must be different from the heap. They have to say Va-va-va-voom. They need to possess that certain something, one cannot put their finger on what it is, but you just know it when you see it. When I spotted BellaMuse, it wasn't just the designs that caught me, but the fact that they venture outside of card-making...
BellaMuse is one that stands out, for her cards are the perfect combination of bold and beautiful, perky colors, lush font types and always tasteful.  However, since this is a design blog, and 2Modern wants you to dress up your home in style, we're not going to discuss greeting cards. We're talking prints for the wall. BellaMuse creates giclee + silkscreen graphics, affordable droolworthy objects of art that you'll love to frame and display in your decked out 2Modern space.
Boring wall need a pick-me-up? Head to BellaMuse online. Their silkscreens are limited editions, printed by hand, signed and numbered by the artist, Alicia Peck. They'll set you back only around $275 each. If you're on a tight budget, you should consider the print collection, instead. These babies add pep to your pad,  using the giclee printing processs, they'll fit standard size frames. Best of all, they're available in a slew of sizes and mats and comfortably priced between $35-$165.
Psst: If you plan to be in NYC anytime soon, BellaMuse has an art stand on weekends in the heart of SOHO on the south east corner of West Broadway @ Spring Street. Click here for directions. (images from bellamuse)
